Congratulations to Colette Rundle ZS2CR for being the top scorer in the SARL 40M PSK Digital contest sponsored by LARK. Colette was running QRP and attained the highest score out of 35 participants.

The Lichtenburg Amateur Radio Club has plans to run a permanent Echolink gateway in Lichtenburg with the callsign ZS6LRK-L , a link station operating on 145.500 Mhz simplex. For this purpose , a used but good condition , Alinco DR135 was purchased.
With a suitable digital modes sound card interface this radio can easily be interfaced to a PC's sound card via the 9 pin D-Type connector at the back of the rig.
Emergency VHF Packet to Internet email has also been successfully tested for later implementation using RMSPacket as a gateway to Winlink 2000.
